What is it…….
The No-Kill 2025 Movement is a nation effort led by Best Friends Animal Society to make the entire United Sates a No-Kill country for dogs and cats by the year 2025.
In simple terms, “No-Kill” means:
- Shelters are saving at least 90% of the dogs and cats that come through their doors.
- The only animals being euthanized are those whose quality of life can not be improved, and human safety cannot be reasonably assured.
How You Can Help…..
- Spay/Neuter your pets.
- Community Cat Programs: TNVR/TNR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return and Trap-Neuter-Return)
- Strong Foster Programs that move the animals out of the shelter into loving homes.
- Behavioral support and training to prevent returns and help “harder-to place” animals.
- Proactive adoption programs and marketing
- Community support service, pet food pantries, assist with medical cost (so fewer animals are surrendered.)
- Strong partnerships with shelters, rescues and sanctuaries like Healing Hearts Sanctuary SoCal.
